"The little things in life aren't things."

I was born in San Jose and grew up in Campbell. My parents still live in the same house that I grew up in. I've been married to Bret, who many of you know from my Tuesday night cycle class, for almost 28 years (remember the “Cruise Countdown”???). We've lived the last 24 years in the Santa Teresa Community, just a few blocks from 24 Hour Fitness. We have 2 kids, Shannon 26, a professional chef and Travis 24, a sheet metal apprentice. Our other 2 "children" are beagles named Liberty and Maximillian also known as Princess Laboobala and Millie Bean.

I love to be in, around, and near the water and have been water skiing since I could walk. Other water activites Bret and I have done include canoeing, riding the rapids, kayaking, and surfing.

Bret and I share a love of the outdoors and have enjoyed activites such as snowmobiling, spelunking through Middle Earth; parasailing, and four-wheeling, to name a few. Speaking of four wheelin, we belong to two 4-wheel drive clubs and along with friends, Jeff, Jeannine and Keith started a non-profit coalition dedicated to the preservation of the our adopt-a-trail called the Friends of Fordyce.

We also hike trails such as Slickrock and the 26 miles we did on the Fordyc Creek Trail proved to be exhilarating and challenging as we managed to finish it in one day. And though the trail leading to and from Half Dome was easy and beautiful the climb up and down the cables was terrifying.

We like to spend as much time as possible riding our Harley Davidson motorcycle that is Bret's labor of love. His "dream bike" that he built from scratch took 5 years to complete and was well worth the wait.Additionally, Bret and I share a passion for outdoor bicycling. We try to ride several organized rides a year and recently participated in the Lance Armstrong Foundation's Livestrong Challenge for the fight against cancer. We like to ride long rides averaging 60+ miles and someday hope to complete a century--100 miles.

When I'm not teaching I'm a receptionist at Wildwood Veterinary Hospital. The job is fascinating and I get to work with many exciting animals.

We recently bought our retirement home on 12 spectacular acres in Georgetown, California. Though Bret was able to retire last year, I'm not quite ready yet....In the meantime, we go up as often as we can to relax and enjoy the surrounding nature.
